What movie or TV show do you rewatch often?
I’m not much of a TV person. That’s not to say I’ve never watched a series, but it’s quite rare. And I’m not someone who enjoys sitting down and watching a movie- maybe every now and then. I have never rewatched a series, but I have a memory of rewatching My Big Fat Greek Wedding every year on our family holiday growing up… haha! I have also watched Mamma Mia and Burlesque multiple times because, duh!
What’s your music taste?
I have a wide palette when it comes to music. Older music — QUEEN is my queen. I put the Bohemian Rhapsody movie soundtrack album on in the car whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up — in particular, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’. I also love Sam Smith — some deep and meaningful music. ABBA — any day, any time. Know every song, particularly the Mamma Mia soundtrack. My teen years saw me OBSESSED with Beyonce. I could go on and on… I’m down for most types of music. Just not heavy metal. 🙂
What’s the last thing you’ve read or a podcast you’ve listened to?
I am currently reading ‘Boy Swallows Universe’ by Trent Dalton. I listen to multiple podcasts that touch on topics revolving around the mind, the body… all things self-growth, self-love, and learning to give less of a f*#k (one of the podcasts is called ‘Do You F#*king Mind?’. Also some neuroscience facts in there too. I’ve always been interested in the depths of the mind and the body and how they work.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever done?
Left home to live and work on a cruise ship at freshly turned 19? Wouldn’t say that’s wild, so to speak.. maybe jumping out of a plane? I went sky-diving in Miami.
If you could travel to any year in a time machine, what year would you choose?
I would love to go back to either 2014 (my last year of high school) or 2018, both because I would love to take the slivers of self-love and confidence I have now back to those times in my life. Also, take some ‘not caring so much about things that really don’t matter’.
What are three items on your bucket list?
Swim with turtles, experience a white Christmas — ideally in Europe like Switzerland for the stunning Christmas markets, and go on a wellness retreat.
What’s your favourite food of all time?
Acai bowls… Hot chips… God, so many foods!
What’s the weirdest thing in your closet?
Probably Minion slippers? Hahaha. They are never worn, but I went through a Minion obsession phase back in the day.
What was the silliest mistake you’ve ever made at work?
Not a mistake, but a funny little situation is how obsessed Linda (the office manager at our co-working space) is with us. She keeps an eye out on the cameras for us, and she always makes sure to get down every single day at least once to check-in. Bless her soul! Haha
What’s your favourite thing about working in recruitment?
Communicating, connecting, and meeting with new people. But above all else, giving people the opportunity to meet clients with incredible career opportunities, helping candidates better build their folio etc- mentoring them. Building strong relationships with clients and maintaining that with existing clients.
What advice would you like to give to our candidates searching for jobs?
Don’t let the job description scare you. If there is a thing or a few things on there that maybe you aren’t as strong at, don’t let that stop you from applying for that job. Be strong in yourself and your talent. It may feel like you’re knocked down time after time, but I guarantee the world is just waiting for the best-fit role for you – and it will come. When you least expect it!
